Birmingham Michigan Farmers Market Season Ends

The Farmers Market Season comes to an end just as Old Woodward construction is finished

This last Sunday was the last day of the Birmingham Farmers Market. The market runs from July 1 thru October 21 first this year. For much of the season it was a challange to get into the market with all the road construction on Old Woodward between Willits and Oak Street. But at last it appears to be almost finished. It will now be easier to find a spot to park for all the shops and next years Farmers Market. Don’t miss next years market which is open every Sunday from 9 AM until 2 PM.

Community Theater and Entertainment in Birmingham Bloomfield and Surrounding area

Birmingham Bloomfield Theater

Going to the theater is always a fun outing, especially if you have a weekend with "nothing" to do.  In the Birmingham Bloomfield area we have several movie theaters to choose from: Birmingham Palladium 12 and Birmingham 8 in downtown Birmingham and the Landmark Maple Art Theatre in Bloomfield, all showing many great first run movies.  If live performances are appealing to you then we would suggest you try going to a Community Theatre production.

For the younger set the Starlight Theater in Waterford is offering Beauty and the Beast this coming weekend and again the following weekend.  The first two weekends of November Starlight Theater will be presenting All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.

For a memorable evening of song and an event to honor Del Moore, a former real estate professional, Birmingham Village Players is presenting "An Evening of Music to Honor Del Moore" on Saturday, October 20th.  In mid-November Birmingham Village Players will be presenting BrigadoonBrigadoon is a charming musical fantasy about a Scottish town that appears in the Highland mist only one day every one hundred years.

The Oakland County area has many Community Theaters with various splendid offerings.  If you would like to checkout other Community Theatre offerings click here.

Oakland County Cider Mills Are A Fun Visit

Close to Birmingham and Bloomfield, Fun outing for the weekend

Line drawing of original Franklin Cider Mill

Here it is the second week of October and the weather has been BEAUTIFUL. We are spoiled. As we approach the weekend the Birmingham Bloomfield areas are going to start getting closer to “normal” Fall temperatures. Lack of excessive moisture in the ground is hindering normal “spectacular” Fall colors but they are still pretty. We are thinking that this would be a good time to visit one of several Cider Mills so very close to Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills.

A few Cider Mills that readily come to mind are the Franklin Cider Mill 7450 Franklin Road, Franklin MI (about 6 Miles from the Birmingham Bloomfield area); Yates Cider Mill 1990 E. Avon Road, Rochester (about 10 Miles from the Birmingham Bloomfield area); Paint Creek Cider Mill, 4480 Orion Road, Rochester ; and Parmenters Cider Mill, 714 Baseline Road, Northville. We will probably take a nice Sunday drive to the Cider Mill this weekend with our granddaughter, Kelley, and our two dachshunds, Penny Candy and Ziggy. We cherish these family times together and being able to enjoy the outdoors. We’re looking forward to the hot donuts, apple cider and fresh apples. Click here to see other Michigan Cider Mills.

Living in Michigan with its four seasons is wonderful.  If you or someone you know is thinking of making a move, please give us a call or visit our website for information on area listings in the greater Oakland County area.

A New Birmingham Restaurant

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in Birmingham - a Great Dining Experience

After a movie at the Birmingham Palladium on a Sunday afternoon we decided to walk over to one of the new restaurants in Downtown Birmingham.  Our dining experience was exceptional at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.  The appetizers were delicious – we tried the Lobster Tempura and seared Ahi Tuna.  Having not realized how plentiful the portions were, after the appetizers we decided to share a steak with a side of grilled asparagus.  Even with sharing we ended up with a “doggie” bag and our little dachshunds were very happy to see what we brought home that evening.  Take a look at the inside of Fleming’s by clicking here (it may take a couple of seconds to load). Since everything in Birmingham is just a short walk away it was not a problem to enjoy the rest of the evening walking around window shopping and relaxing.

The City of Birmingham is a wonderful place to walk around with a friendly downtown area offering a myriad of unique shops, restaurants, theatres and cultural events.  A children and dog friendly city, Birmingham boasts several lovely parks and outdoor café seating for three season enjoyment.

IS IT TIME TO BUY YET IN THE BIRMINGHAM AREA?

Comments Off

Some people can't help but generalize and make fools of themselves!

Just last week  Jim Cramer, a cable TV commentator appeared on the Today show and told the world that it is a bad time to buy a house. He said if you do you will lose money.

I DISAGREE with his statements. If that were true, do you think people would be out in the market right now buying investment properties. I purchased my first home over 40 years ago and I still own it today. That home has been rented out for the last 38 years and has increase in value 12 fold. Besides the fact that it has paid for itself it has help me buy several other investment properties and pay for my children’s college educations. Let me give you another example. I just helped a young couple buy a lake access home that a couple of years ago would have costs them at least 1/3 more. Even when you have to take a small lose on the home your selling, that loss doesn’t compare to the money you are saving on the new home you are buying.

Like the song by Shania Twain says:

If you’re not In it for love
If you’re not willin’ to give it all you got
If you’re not in it for life
If you’re not in it for love
I’m outta here

If you’re not in it for Love (of growing your net worth), If you’re not willin’ to give it all you got (time and energy), If your not in it for Life (the long hall of seeing good returns), I am outta of here (And you should be too.) But if you’re willin’ to give it all you got, you could end up very well off. Good sense says don’t generalize or listen to those that do.

BEING # 1 IN BIRMINGHAM SEARCH GETS YOUR HOME SEEN!

Comments Off

WEBSITE POSITIONS ARE CRITICAL TO GETTING A HOME FOUND ON THE INTERNET TODAY!

A phrase such as "birmingham michigan homes"  is how people find homes for sale when they are doing searches on Google. When you are selling a home in an area such as Birmingham, Michigan you really should keep this in mind. If you click on this phrase "birmingham michigan homes"  you will see the results of that search in Google. Once you are there take a close look at the results.

Today’s smart internet user does not very often choose to click on the sponsored links on the page as they know the only reason the link is showing up on page one is because the party being linked to is BUYING THE POSITION. The "organic" (natural) results are folks that have gotten to the top without buying the position. They earned their number one position.

Example:

Birmingham Michigan Real Estate – Birmingham Michigan HomesSearch and view all available homes for sale and real estate in the Birmingham Michigan and Bloomfield Hills Michigan area. The Whitehouse Team Realtors
www.whitehouses.com/ – 25k – CachedSimilar pages

WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT?

Almost every real estate listing today is put up on the internet. The real question is "does is ever get seen?" If you look again at the search results you will see that we show up in first place. With tons of people using key word searches like this it is extremely important that you consider your agents web site position.

If you were to click on the links to our website from the Google search you would see in the title "FEATURED HOMES" which are individual websites on our featured properties. To see how we create an individual web site using the street name of a property, take a look at one of our newest properties to hit the market at www.LAKEVIEW.WhitehouseS.com.

This is how homes get FOUND on the internet.
